Almost done with Christmas!

I've been a busy little elf!!  I thought I was almost done with Christmas but things just keep popping up.  I hate doing things last minute, but that's just how I roll.

The challenge over at BBTB2 was to use a tag from Winter Frolic.  I may be a little late in posting this since they have already got their new challenge up, but I couldn't resist not playing along.  I love all the tag cuts from Winter Frolic!!

My first project is a gift card box.  I don't like just giving gift cards in a card...I like to make them a little bit special.  This box cut from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More was just perfect.

I thought I was done with Christmas cards but my boyfriend's mom asked me to make just one more for her.

And then she needed a gift bag.  I had this plain kraft bag and decided to alter it a bit.

I wish I could say I was done with Christmas, but I have some things left to make. Ay yi yi!! I'm just kidding! I love Christmas crafts. And I'll be sad when it's all done and over with! =(

Thank you all for stopping by!

Also, I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!!!  May your holiday be filled with Love, Happiness and Family!

Sandy Claws

I am sad to say that this is my last Christmas card. I was sad because I was thinking that all of my Christmas crafting was done, but I need to make a couple of other things still.  So Christmas is not over just yet!!! =)

Santy Claus

It seems like something is missing but I was crunched for time. I am still very happy with how it turned out. I know my family will love it.

It's been real fun making my holiday cards this year. I made them last year, too, but this year, I am very proud of how much time and thought went into each card. Last year, I made a couple of designs and mass produced. But my goal this year was to make each card special and unique. And I did just that. I am really excited to see what I can accomplish next year!!

Jingle Bells

I needed an elegant Christmas card to send to my Abuela in Mexico.  Elegant isn't really my style.  Mine is more fun, bright and cheery.  In my book, Gold, is the epitome of elegance.  So, I knew I needed to incorporate the color in my card.

Bells

I am loving the gold on gold.  FYI, this look is absolutely delicious when wrapping gifts.  Use gold wrapping paper and tie it all up with some gold ribbon.  Hello, beautiful!!!

Have a Holly, Jolly Christmas!!

As I mentioned before, I am on a serious budget.  I mean, s-e-r-i-o-u-s. Can you believe it has been almost a month since I have stepped foot in Jo-ann, Michaels, or Hobby Lobby?  Oh, the humanity!!  I am having serious withdrawals here. Anyway....

I did happen to splurge on a couple of things before I went on said budget.  For instance, my yummy Doodlebug Christmas twine.  So pretty, so colorful, how could I not resist? And then there was Echo Park.  I was really adamant about not spending a single penny on paper this year, but after seeing the Holly Jolly line, it was love at first sight.  I absolutely love the prints and the colors.  I mean, seriously, could Echo Park do no wrong?  I am in awe of all of their lines but this one has to be the funnest. I forget what the point of my story is.  Really, there's none.  I just wanted you to know about my deep, sincere and unconditional love for Echo Park.

Oh wait!!  Here's my point.  I made 2 cards using paper and stickers from Echo Park.  I know I used some of these supplies in my previous Holiday card posts, but these two hold a special place in my heart.  And I'm not sure why.   Maybe, because they have 2 of my most favorite ingredientses (I love the way Teresa Giudice says this).  Nope, make that 3 (I see stickles!!).  Or maybe because I really thought outside of the box to come up with these ideas.  Whatever the reason, these are two little lovelies that I am pretty happy with.

Sorry about all of the gushing over my OWN creations. LOL It's all in good fun! I'm not really that egotistical. =)

A Stocking Full of...Money!

And that's just what my nephew is getting.  Well, not a stocking, but a money holder with a stocking on it.  Close enough!  He is 2000 miles away so it is hard to keep up with what toys and games he has.  So, I just send him money to spend as he pleases.  I think he is pretty happy with that arrangement.

Stocking Money Holder

This stocking came out so cute, I had to duplicate it and slap it onto a holiday card (as seen on my previous post).  There's just something about tiny gifts tied up with twine that kills me.  Oh yeah, and glitter.  I am a sucker for all the glittery stuff.  And I couldn't help adding it to my stocking and candy cane.

Christmas Card Galore

I was able to get back to crafting sooner than I thought.  I really need to get my holiday cards out by today so I kept my hands super busy the past couple of days.  The fruits of my labor:

Next year, I will need to invest in some sentiment stamps. I'm on a budget and I tried not to buy one thing for my holiday cards. And I succeeded (with the exception of some Doodlebug twine and some Echo Park goodness), but using the same sentiment stamps got a bit redundant. All in all, I do love how they all turned out. I do have a bit more to make, but those will come later.

Holly Jolly Christmas Cards

I just started my Christmas cards.  3 down, a gazillion to go.  I'm the biggest procrastinator and I've been meaning to craft and craft and craft until I have all the cards I need, but so much has been happening that I just haven't had the chance.  So this year, fast and simple is going to be my go-to style.  Especially since I will be out of commission for about a week =(.  I seriously need to get the ball rolling.

This year I wanted to make each card I sent out different. My, aren't we being ambitious!  But I think I can do it and be finished with them and have them ready to go the week before Christmas!  A little late, but still on time. =)

A very Mousy Christmas!

They did it again!! Over at Bitten By the Bug 2, they put up a challenge I just couldn't resist.  The challenge was to use the mouse from the Meow cartridge, which sadly, I don't have =(.  But Create A Critter has a cutie mouse and I decided to go ahead and use that one.

I made this into a money holder that I'm going to need for my nephews' Christmas gifts. It couldn't have come out any cuter!

Why, hello Mr. Snowman

I so wanted to play along with Jingle Belles but I just didn't get my card done in time =(. But, of course, that won't stop me from sharing it with you.

The challenge was to use a sticker on your Christmas card. I am loving the Echo Park Holly Jolly line...so many bright, happy colors. Just my style. My Christmas cards this year will probably all sport some Holly Jolly on them, so be prepared.  This card came out sweet and straight to the point.  Again, just my style. =)

Gobble Gobble

My little niece liked the first door hanger that I made so I thought I'd make her one for Thanksgiving.

I was having trouble with this.  My crafter's block wasn't helping, either.  I really wanted to use pattern paper with a different turkey cut but it just wasn't meshing.  But my disaster turned into something way better.  I totally love how this turned out.  Especially the glitter accents (must buy more STICKLES!!).

Throwback Thursday Challenge - Happy Rainbow

Emma's challenge over at My Creative Time was to use a "kid-friendly" cartridge.  How much more kid friendly can you get with Create A Critter?

I am in love with rainbows.  They just make me happy =).  All the bright, happy colors remind me of little kiddies.  So, I decided to use one for this card.  I welded a couple of cuts together to make this little guy.  Add some bright pattern papers and you got yourself a very happy rainbow.

I was inspired by KinderStampO's Color It Monday post for this card. This goes out to my nephew for his 8th (ohmygosh, he's so old!!) birthday. I know he loves snakes and if I'm remembering right, he had a brown and green snake that he named "Brown and Green" (how original!). Hope he likes it!

Phew!  I finally made it!  I completed my 13 nights of Halloween.  It took longer than the original 13 nights, but here we are at the end.  I am kind of sad because after tonight Halloween is over.  I'll just have to start thinking about next year's Halloween! ;)

Witchy Poo - 13 Nights of Halloween #10

Boy, I was crazy getting myself into this challenge mess. The original plan was to do something crafty for 13 nights straight. Then it changed to just weekdays. Then life gets in the way and some nights, I just don't get a chance to get messy.

But I got a chance to get something done tonight. The challenge over at BBTB2 was to use the flying witch from Happy Hauntings.  Twist my arm, why dontcha??   Sure, I'll play along!! =)

I made my first ever door hanger. I went a little crazy and made it giant sized, but it still fits on a door knob and that's all that matters. It came out simple and sweet.  And check out all of that glittery goodness.

13 Nights of Halloween #9

I had to take a couple of nights off from crafting.  Let's just say I got into a fight with my cat...and I lost. =/

Seriously, I am getting tired of making treat bags. lol But this is my last post on treat bags because I am finished with mine.  Yes, I am done with them.  I finally decided on one and it wasn't the one I mentioned on my last post.  I'm a very indecisive person so you'll see me change my mind a lot.  That's just me. =P

13 Nights of Halloween Days 7 & 8

I tried and I tried but I didn't get to a project last night.  I was fighting with this lil' treat box and for some reason, I could not get it to work.  My head was hurting and I was really sleepy so I decided to give it a rest and save it for tonight.

It's not that complicated of a box so I'm not sure what happened.

DSCN3404

Ding! Ding! Ding! I think I found a winner. I don't know why but I like it. There's plenty of room for treats and it wasn't that hard to make. I scored a 7x10" piece of card stock at 4" and 6" lengthwise and turned it over and scored it at 2" and 5". Then I folded it on the score lines, cut slits on each side and put it all together with some tacky tape. It sounds complicated but really it isn't. I wish you could see more of that adorable pattern paper that I used as a mat for each side, but you can't (boo!). I promise it is really cute! I topped it with a 2" strip of paper that I had punched with a border punch. I added some die cuts, a sentiment and some ribbon and called it a day.

My next project is a scrapbook layout.

Sorry about the terrible picture but I need to find a spot where I can photograph layouts.

I have been wanting to use these chipboard letters that I have (they were actually one of the first "crafty" things that I ever bought!) but the colors just weren't working out for me.  So I painted them with black acyclic paint and while they were still wet, sprinkled black glitter.  "Monster" is from Gypsy Font with the letters welded together in my Gypsy.  The spiderweb is cut from Happy Hauntings and some of those adorable glitter spiders are hanging out on it.  This layout looks pretty simple but I do love how it came out.  (I wish I had added the picture but I have no idea where I put it)

13 Nights of Halloween Day 6

I decided to take a break from crafting over the weekend to spend some quality time with my two lovelies.  But tonight it was back to work!

Coffin Treat Box

I'm still on the hunt for a treat box to give out, so tonight, I made the coffin box from Happy Hauntings. I've been wanting to do it for a while now and it couldn't have come out any cuter. I topped it with a rosette and a tag from one of my favorites, Mini Monograms. I finished it up with some twine and the cutest glittery spider.

13 Nights of Halloween Day 5

I didn't get to post this last night because I finished WAY too late. I stayed up until almost 2 AM finishing this little sucker. Man, if that's not dedication I don't know what is! =P

Witchy Treat Bag

I cut the bag from Plantin Schoolbook. The layers were cut from Mini Monograms. I did some paper piecing for the little witch (isn't she cute?). And then tied it all up in a bow.

I'm thinking about what I should do for my treat bags this year, so you'll probably see a couple more. Although this one came out pretty darn cute (gotta love that purple and green) I will probably not be replicating it. =(

Throwback Thursday - Day 4 of 13 Nights of Halloween

I had something else planned for the 4th day of 13 Nights of Halloween but I really wanted to join in on Emma's Throwback Thursday Challenge.  I've been a fan for so long and I'm so excited that I am finally joining in!

The challenge was to use the "Card Feature"on an older cartridge.  I have always wanted to do something with the crest card from Alphalicious.  It has always reminded me of one of my favorite movies, "The Nightmare Before Christmas".  It's kind of Tim Burtony, don't ya think?  Of course, I had to pay tribute to one of my favorite men, Jack Skellington.  I drew in the face with my trusty Sharpie so I hope my Pumpkinhead resembles him some. =)

13 Nights of Halloween Day 3

I made it to Day 3!!  Just barely!  I was so sleepy when I got home from work and just wanted to call it a night at 6PM!  But after a lil' one hour nap, I was good to go.

I attempted another shaped card.

RIP

In my Gypsy, I welded a gravestone shadow with a ghost shadow.  Then I cut out the layers, inked up the edges (except for the ghost) and attached everything.  I used stickers for the RIP and drew on the ghost's face.

13 Nights of Halloween Day 2

I have been a busy little bee!!  I can't believe I got to Day 2 of my challenge!  Ha!  You guys should know I am really, really bad at finishing things so making it to the 2nd day is quite a little victory for me!

So, I am absolutely loving this:

Don't you just want to pinch its cheeks?? Isn't it the cutest thing you have ever seen?

Well, I think it is adorable. So pretty! So, I thought I'd put my Pinterest account to good use and finally make something. Here's my take on it:

Halloween Banner

I actually love it. I wish my camera could have done a better job at capturing it, but I have to work with what I've got. I think it looks really good against the black tulle garland.

Extreme Close-up...Whoaaaaa!

Those rosettes (I think that's what they are called) are pretty time consuming, but so worth it.  They really are cute in person.  I used pattern paper by The Paper Studio and strung them up on some Doodlebug twine.  And if you can tell, I used my favorite ingredient, glitter, for the centers.  Actually it is glitter paper from Target. It's not super thick paper, but it cuts nicely on the Cricut.  Two 12x12 sheets of that stuff is only one buckaroo.  My kind of buy!!

Hope you liked what you saw.  Thanks for stopping by! =)

13 Nights of Halloween?

Treat Box #1 by Zoenuts
(sorry about the blurry image)
Get ready for an overload of Halloween projects. I am challenging myself to create projects for 13 nights straight. That sounds like a lot of work but it sounds like a lot of fun, too. Besides, I have a blast crafting and when I am crafting, I am totally in my happy place =)

My first project is this super easy goody box. The box is cut from Tags Bags Boxes and More. All I did was cut out squares of paper, inked em up and glued them on each side of the box. Then I added a 3-D sticker on the front and wrapped it up with some ribbon. Really easy stuff and cute, too.

Ho to the 3rd Power by Zoenuts

This is one of my Christmas card prototypes.  Hmmmm....I'm not sure how I feel about it yet.   Maybe I'm not in the Christmas mood yet.  I'm still all about the Halloween, you know?  It's OK though.  I still have lots of time before I have to start making my cards (but not as much time as I think, right??).

P.S. I really need to learn how to sew.  The ribbon would have came out way nicer.

A little bit froggie

DSCN3302 by Zoenuts

I need a card for my nephew's 8th birthday and I was having a pretty tough time thinking of something.  Then I came across Bitten By the Bug 2's Frog Challenge.  And a star was born! =P

This is my first shaped card. It was a bit tough. I know I'm doing something wrong because the sides didn't quite line up. But I guess practice makes perfect and they'll start lining up after I shoot out a couple more of these bad boys. But they are a lot of work (at least for me), so I might stay away from shaped cards for a bit.

By the way, I may not use this for my nephew after all.  I'm cooking up something in my head and if it works out, then I'll use that. =)  But who knows...for me, things ALWAYS look better in my mind.  I hate when that happens!
